A year after I gave birth to my daughter, I found out I was pregnant with my son, Beau James. I gave birth in the late afternoon on October 20, 2023 after having a long and exhausting labor that lasted over twenty-four hours. I hope you"ll notice the difference in my presence and expression than of that with my first birth. My journey and experience with my second pregnancy and birth was drastically different and if I had known what I knew now, I probably wouldn't be where I am today.

This photo was taken within the hour after the birth of my son with my fiance and birth doula, Maria. She, and with a variety of other factors is what transformed my whole experience in my journey with my second pregnancy and birth. She supported my fiancé and I in ways I didn't even know where possible until I was in the moment. She laughed with us, cried with us, advocated and supported us. She was the difference that made my labor, birth and postpartum experience enjoyable and memorable.
